The Body Pod offers (non-invasively) comprehensive body insights by accurately measuring muscle mass, body fat, and water composition. Unlike standard smart scales that only measure half of the body and rely on estimations, the Body Pod delivers reliable data. This empowers you to track your progress and confidently achieve your fitness goals.
The Hume multi-frequency monitors measure bioelectrical impedance at six different frequencies. The lower frequencies assess the impedance outside the cell membrane, while the higher frequencies can penetrate the cell membrane. By measuring impedance at both lower and higher frequencies, it can calculate extracellular water (ECW), intracellular water (ICW), and Total Body Water. The algorithms will handle the rest.

"While the Body Pod provides various health data, based on my assessment,
the following data is the most relevant, valuable, and consistently accurate".

Metabolic Age
This is a comparison of your BMI to the average for your age group. I believe that your perceived metabolic age should be viewed as a 'score' that can change over time. For example, it may lower as you make improvements to your lifestyle.
Skeletal Muscle Mass
The total mass of muscles that connect to your bones and assist in movement is a crucial indicator of strength, mobility, and metabolic health. This measure becomes especially important as we age, particularly for women. I place a strong emphasis on the significance of resistance exercise and skeletal muscle mass.
Body Fat percentage & distribution
Body fat percentage refers to the amount of fat tissue in your total body mass. This includes both essential fat, which is necessary for basic bodily functions, and storage fat. The scan also shows how fat is distributed across different areas of your body, specifically in the arms, trunk, and legs. This information is especially important for individuals who are focused on reducing body fat around their heart.
Skeletal Mass
The total mass of your skeletal system, which includes bones, cartilage, bone marrow, and other connective tissues, provides insight into the structural framework that supports your body and protects vital organs. This assessment could be of great value for lighter individuals with a renewed interest in resistance exercise.
Body Water
Indicates hydration status, which significantly affects metabolism, athletic performance, and appetite. Furthermore, it can reveal if one is retaining excess water, which may also impact overall health.
