Best Christmas gift 2023: Shakti mat.
What?
A plastic mat with numerous sharp spikes, similar to those found on golf shoes, priced at $70.
Note: Acupressure mats have been used for centuries, but only recently have they become popular even with stores like ALDI selling them!
Why?
Sales pitches will spruce the whole meridian wellness thing. My return from day-ending practice produces calmness, promoting career-best sleep. It undoubtedly helps with unwinding.
How?
It is advisable to wear light clothing at the beginning of your activity as the spikes tend to dig in. Gradually reduce the amount of clothing you wear as you proceed. I recommend starting by lying on your back for only 5 minutes, and gradually increasing the time to no more than 15 minutes. Throw in some chill sounds and practice rhythmic and easy breathing.
The Future!
I've set myself the goal of practising 3/7 @ 15 minutes weekly for 2024.

My man has been at it again!
In 2022 Mikka successfully completed the world's longest triathlon – 10km swim, 400km ride and an 80km run! Yep, not a typo!
After completing this event, filled with crazy and absurd challenges, I felt there were only two possible outcomes.
(A lot of) beer and pizza, leaving him looking like a retired (former champion) heavyweight, or, he could choose another lunatic event!
Enter: the brutal yet stunning 160km Kosciuszko Trail run!
As you'd expect the Snowy Mountains threw all four seasons at him. And, despite losing blood, sweat & tears, Mikka persevered and earned a coveted finisher's medal, completing the race in just under 32 hours. Yep, not a typo!
Once again, he's proven you want people like this on your team. You know he won't bail when it gets tough!
"Mikka, I know I shouldn't, but I can't help myself; what next"?
"Pampy, I've just been accepted into the DaddyMach of all footraces, the DeadCow Gully Australian Backyard Ultra".
"OK, tell me"!
"The race format of Backyard Ultra is quite simple. You have to run a 6.7km loop within the hour, every hour, until there is only one race participant left. Runners drop out of the race for 3 main reasons";
😕 Failing to complete the loop within the hour.
😕 Failing to make the start line before the next loop begins.
😕 A runner comes to their senses.

21-day
The 14th Edition of 'The Reboot'
Following the festive fun, including drinking & sh'ood, seasonal heat & humidity, sedentary time watching cricket & streaming binges, can often leave you (and I) feeling;
😩 Flat & lethargic,
😩 Harder getting up and into the day,
😩 Soreness in a few aging joints,
😩 Your favourite pants feel a tad tighter,
😩 Dehydrated, and,
😩 Left wondering if you'll ever get back to your best!
Enter: My 2024 (Nutritional) Reboot - starting 5th Feb!
How it works!
You can choose to follow my exact menu, day-to-day for 28 days, or, bespoke your daily menu policing the key reboot principles.
The three key sections are: Gut repair & rebuild, blood glucose regulation and optimising fat-burning, and defining your ideal (usually less) meal portioning!
What is the best return from completing the 28-day reboot?
"When you start eating healthy, you'll not only feel great and lose some unnecessary weight, but you'll also sleep better. However, the most significant benefit is the immediate feedback you'll get when you return to eating unhealthy food. You'll experience gut-ache, wind, lethargy, and broken sleep, which are clear indicators that the food is not good for you. This is a healthy trigger that can help you make better food choices for life."
