Transport for NSW – “Test Your Tired Self” Assessment
This quick fatigue-awareness tool is used to help drivers recognise early signs of tiredness before operating a vehicle. URM requires all driving applicants to complete the Test Your Tired Self (TYTS) assessment.

Please complete the official Transport for NSW “Test Your Tired Self” assessment and report your result to the Assessor.

Section 9: Job-Specific Physical Test

The applicant performs movements following demonstration. Strict, safe form is required for all movements. The Assessor records performance and determines URM Risk.

9a. Deadlift – Barbell 20 kg

Target: 10 reps with good form, controlled movement, safe return of barbell.

9b. Step-Up Test – 2 × 10 kg Dumbbells

Target: 10 controlled step-ups each leg with balance and controlled breathing.

9c. Push-Ups – Elevated Box (Classic Position)

Target: 5 controlled reps with strong core and lumbar stability.

9d. Sit & Reach

Legs straight, knees extended. Aim: smooth movement, beyond +10 cm.

9e. Standing Overhead Press – Single Arm, 10 kg

Target: 3 reps each arm, balanced posture, no excessive spinal extension.

9f. Double Arm Curl – 2 × 10 kg Dumbbells

Target: 8 controlled reps, spinal balance and control.

9g. Coordination – Step-Down Control

Step down from box with control, maintaining ankle, knee, and hip alignment.

Single-leg stance to assess hip/gluteal stability.

Feet together, reduced visual input to assess balance.
